The first is that some things genuinely do change what you should do. A pay award changes the final pensionable pay behind a final salary pension. A delayed Remediable Service Statement changes when you can make a decision you cannot reverse. A recovery demand landing on your doormat changes your income this month. Those are not headlines, they are inputs.
The second is that the reporting around armed forces pensions is often thin on the detail that matters. A story will give you the total and the outrage but not the dispute route, the deadline or the distinction between two things that sound identical. Where we can add that, we do, and where a claim rests only on press reporting rather than an official source, we say so rather than laundering it into fact.
